Unix server

04 Dec

As far as you might have known, RMIT Vietnam has a Unix server located at unix.rmit.edu.vn for student access. This server will be where we upload our assignment 3 in HTML.

This morning, I tried to log into the system from home but I could not because the server terminated the connection before I had a chance to enter my user name. It seems that RMIT has a policy to block external access to its unix server. I will check this as soon as I am in RMIT wireless network.

Edited (15:00 4/12/2008): The server is only accessible from inside RMIT network. SSH is fine but ftp does not work.

A day off

04 Dec

Good news: 1. There was no class yesterday. 2. The illness is over.

Better news: There will be two classes today, with great knowledge to gain.

The results for Maths and Computer Organisation, namely one midterm and two in-class tests, were not bad at all. All of them were from 90% of possible score. I am waiting for the result of Intro to Programming’s midterm test and assignment 1. If I keep up this good work until the end of the semester, an HD will be within my reach.

Have watched “The Golden Compass”. The Vietnamese translation was so inaccurate that it spoiled the whole story. I prefer its original, English version. By the way, I have found out a site with plenty of HD movies for download at great speed (since it is located in Vietnam).

That is all for “yesterday”. Good night! Have a nice dream ;)
