Couple of the Year

Dear RMIT staffs and students,

RMIT Vietnam Business Club is excited about the special and romantic event “Couple of the Year”, which will be organized soon in semester A of 2009.

“Couple of the Year” is the first couple competition held for all RMIT members. Participating in this event will:

  • give the single the chances to find their dream lovers and
  • give the couples the chances to confirm their true loves in the face of challenges.

In addition, this event will raise the first charity fund held by Business Club to facilitate unfortunate children at orphanages in our society.

Date: From March 2nd 2009 to April 25th 2009

Location: RMIT Vietnam, Saigon South Campus.

The required criteria in “Couple of the year” competition are not the beauty. Rather, we focus on how you act upon together as well as how deeply you understand each other.

Deadline for registration is Tuesday March 10th 2009.

Your chance to do something for the Environment

28 Feb

Dear all,

If you are one of those people who really care about the environment yet don’t know what specific things you can do, this is a great chance for you to help to save our mother earth.

Nhan Nguyen, a RMIT lecturer from Commerce department has found the website toiyeumoitruong.com (I love the environment) to raise environment awareness. It is for non-profit purpose and he is using his own money as the capital for this project. The website will be in Vietnamese and is to be used specifically in Vietnamese schools. Mr. Nhan is currently looking for students to help him translate articles from English into Vietnamese. This would reduce the cost very much compare to hiring a professional translator. More information can be founded in the message below.

Great opportunity to get full scholarship

26 Feb

Dear all,

As part of the 35 year anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam (concluding in February 2009), RMIT Vietnam has decided to offer a scholarship to Vietnamese nationals whose parent or guardian is currently working for an Australian organization or Australian Joint-Venture firm in Vietnam. RMIT Vietnam sees this as a great opportunity and would like to see as many applicants as possible.

The deadline for the Vietnam Australia 35th year anniversary diplomatic relations scholarship is COB Monday 16 March 2009.

This scholarship provides a wonderful opportunity for a person whose parent or guardian works for an Australian organisation or a Vietnamese – Australian joint venture firm to undertake studies in one of RMIT Vietnam’s undergraduate programs and have the cost fully funded by the Australian Embassy and Australian Consulate General.

More information is available from the address below. If you know anyone who might be interested, please encourage them to lodge their application as soon as possible to avoid missing the deadline.

Spelling feature in WebEMS

13 Feb

The spelling checking feature in student WebEMS, which was disabled last semester, is now activated. It is pretty useful for those who want a quick check before sending an email.

You can use this feature by clicking on the Spelling icon when writing email. If you want an automatic check before sending any email, select “Always check spelling before sending” in Options.

By the way, if your RMIT mailbox is running low on storage, you can go to the ITS and they can help you archive all the old messages to a file which can be opened using Microsoft Outlook, leaving more space for new messages.

For your information, POP or IMAP access is not available to students (I know the staff have access to RMIT Exchange Server when logged into their VPN).
